Question

Just got home from being out of town for 10 days, and my ebay package was waiting for me--yaaayy! BUT, I have some questions for those who already have an original....
You see, the skirt is lovely-- heavy green wool, in new condition, strong velcro, serged seams, nicely hemmed, and tagged Made in China for Pleasant Company, along with a "recommend dry cleaning" tag. However, the jacket, while new and nicely made, is not made of exactly the same material; it's somewhat lighter weight, more like felt than wool, though the color matches exactly. Also, the seams are not serged off, and there is no hemming, and no tag. The embroidery at the collar, riveted "buttons", and gold trimming look authentic, though. Is this the way the older riding habits were made? I've never seen one "in person", only in pictures, so I can't help wondering if I've got an older skirt and a "new" jacket, even though it's not supposed to be available until September. (It was represented as a 1994 Felicity's riding habit by the seller, who has 99.9% positive feedback for well over 1000 transactions.)
Somebody please help! I'm so confused.....

Thanks for your swift reply--you just made me feel so much better!!
But I'd still like to hear from lots of others--I'm basically very insecure and need lots of reassurance!

Mine is the same. I'm not sure that the top fabric is thinner, but the jacket has not been serged or hemmed, just like yours. I think yours is probably authentic.

Thanks, everybody! Aside from my earlier doubts, the whole outfit is in lovely new condition, so now I can post positive feedback for the seller with a free mind! (AND, Lissie loves her new riding habit, complete with hat!!)

I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
